Looking for a place to keep family informed

As my first blog I'm testing this site and a few others. I want my family to beable to go online to see how everything is going. Plus I'm thinking ahead and want a place Johnny can just pop online and see me and his pups he has left behind to do his duty for our country. So will blogger be the place? Will see....
