2011 was a rollercoaster ride for sure. Bringing home Rufus to losing a job to finding out we're pregnant and then Johnny's shorting hours at work. We are blessed to have a roof over our heads and to have a beautiful baby girl growing inside of me.
This December I don't feel to worried about decorating as I am entering my third trimester and feel like I just need more sleep and getting Ellie Joanne's room ready for her is more on our minds than decorating for Christmas. We may still get a tree but we do have a puppy in our house that loves to chew on anything that we're not looking at. Just last week he at the post off our bed. He definetly keeps us on our toes. Hopefully he settles down when Ellie arrives.
Can't wait for 2012 and a baby shower and Ellie to arrive. We are excited that she'll be joining our family and all our adventures for the year. I'm sure I'll be updating more frequently with a growing baby in our house and wanting to write it down somewhere for a keepsake.
Merry Christmas to all our family and friends and a happy new year to us all!

New Post. LOL.
I started this space in the wonderful intent on keeping up with family and friends. Although I'm not exactly sure who reads. These past couple of months have been crazy. From picking up Rufus, to having my mom come to town for my birthday, getting laid off, going to a fertility doctor and then the BIG NEWS: FINDING OUT WE'RE PREGNANT!!
I'll start with getting laid off. I was told Early June, not thrilled but going with the flow with life. I went to a fertility doctor late June, just a consult but talked about a few tests and such that I was suppose to do. Then two days later I find out I'm pregnant. Total shock. And excitement!
So today I am 16 weeks pregnant and feeling all the little pains in my back and stretching of my belly. Hopefully I can find out the gender later this week but if not I'll be waiting another long 4 weeks. It's okay, I'm just really enjoy this time.
I'm also trying really hard to find a job before I start showing and then it becomes obvious to my interviewer and then I feel that I become a liability and they'd have to figure something out while I was on maternity leave and may choose someone else who isn't pregnant or not showing at the moment.
The big question: When are you due? February 15th. The significance in February? Johnny's Birthday the 17th, my dad's birthday on the 7th. This baby I'm sure is going to have quite the entrance into this world.
Happy Summer, Hello Fall. Hopefully I'll be updating soon on the gender of this amazing addition to our family!

Introducing puppy Rufus
I woke up two saturdays ago, got online and started googling for boxer puppies. Just browsing, I swear. Found a classified website for selling puppies and there was an ad for a litter in Sutherlin. Which is aproximetely 2 hours away. I called them up and asked if they still had puppies. Asked if they had males left and they said 2. So we texted them back and said we wanted the "fancy" boxer. That just meant the fawn boxer with a white chest. They said he's yours. We made our way to Sutherlin. Luckily Johnny has a friend who lives in Sutherlin so Molle, Johnny and I had a place to hang out with our new addition. It wasn't but half way down to Sutherlin that a light bulb went off and I said we need to name him. And with some back and forth vetos we finally said we should stick with the name Rufus.
There was a pitbull puppy in our lives once before ( a friends) named Rufus and we were in love with him. He had to be put down because he made some not wise decisions so we decided to go with the name. In honor or memory of him.
In the past two weeks we have all adjusted to puppy life. Mollie is starting to play more with the puppy and sit on him and love on him more and more each day. Johnny was on puppy duty for the first week since he had no work and my spring break was last week so I ended up on puppy duty. Rufus is slowly but surely learning his name and is starting to get the idea of where to go potty. OUTSIDE PLEASE! He seems to be a quick learner just can't wait for all the "accidents" to be done with.

New Year
Here's the guest room all painted and even bought a futon, just looking for an inexpensive tv to help entertain our guests if need be :)
Here's the before picture of the living room. Johnny and a friend knocked out the bricks and cedar paneling while I was at work so I got out of that project :)
The after for the living room, but before I put decor up on the walls. All I have to say is if you want to see more you'll have to show up at our door :)

All I have to say is if you want to see more you'll have to show up at our door :)Just realized I haven't posted anything about our house and all that we've accomplished so far. We've painted the bedroom, hallway, guestroom, living room and laundry room. Altho the hallway color isn't quite what we were going for so we're going to get another bucket of paint and redo the color. I've planned out our themes for the bathrooms and kitchen and dining room just need to paint the kitchen and dining room to put up some of the decor that we've collected for the walls.

We're in our house!
We started moving two weekends ago and have been officially in our house since then. I'm slow to updating due to lack of internet connection for a week and then just getting by the next week through work and every evening being busy with something going on.
We're enjoying the projects that we want to do around the house. Like painting and texturing walls. I hope our living room gets put back together soon. I miss sitting on my couches and enjoying my coffee and reading a book. We do have the master bedroom all painted and definetly looks lived in. I started painting the walls in the hallway, which I should be finishing since it is my day off work but I'm waiting for Johnny to get home instead. hehe.
Little by little, isn't that how it's suppose to go. So far we are only living in our kitchen, master bath and bedroom and we do have internet and our computers in there place, in the office. Of course we will have to take everything out of said office when we get to painting those walls too. Oh yes almost forgot. Our t.v. is in the bedroom so we can at least watch a show from time to time and our DVD's that we have been getting through Netflix.
I think that's about it. Love the neigborhood. Nice and quiet during the day and full of kiddos running around the street in the evening. Now on to the next chapter of our lives!

Summer Update
So we're half way through our summer. Or maybe I should say my summer break. We went to Central California for the fourth of July and hung out with my mom's side of the family. It was really alot of fun. That's about it for the exciting things we've done for summer. LOL we're regular old party animals. haha.
Anyways, the results from all that blood work I had done was pretty much all good news. I'm a healthy 28 year old woman...except that I have too many follicles on my ovaries and is preventing me to ovulate. So the doctor has diagnosed PCOS (polyistic ovarian syndrome). I've started taking Metformin twice a day to keep the bad follicles flowing so I am actually menstrating. And the medicine is working. Now I have to keep my eyes open and alert to get the ovulation timing correct and hopefully Johnny and I will be able to start a family soon. Keep your fingers crossed it all works out. If this medicine doesn't work I'll go see a fertility specialist where they will most likely start me on Clomid. I'm just hoping it doesn't take that long. hehe.
Onto the update on house hunting...oh my goodness. I didn't realize how hard it was gonna be. We found a house and we put an offer on it and mysteriously there happened to be 2 other offers at the same exact time. Needless to say it's not going to work out so we're back to square one. Ugh, I just wish that our house was out there right now. It's like finding a diamond in the ruff. So many to look at to find our gem. I'm hoping to find our gem sooner rather than later cuz I'm stressing myself out and get depressed when there's no new houses on the market.
Ohh and stress isn't good if I'm trying to concieve so I was hoping to have less stress but I've managed to add stress to my life. I'm actually looking forward to working again at the end of August. It honestly can't come soon enough. LOL
Oh yes, I almost forgot. Johnny talked me into trading in my Xterra, which I love to death and would have never gotten rid of it for anything, for a pickup truck. All my friends were appalled cuz they knew how much I loved my Xterra...my guess is that I must really love my husband. And now I'm training myself to be calm and confident in driving a manual car. Cuz I think he's more in love with the truck than the car now. So the mazda is mine, which I have anxieties driving and the truck is his. LOL
okay time to get off...he wants to go for ice cream!

Update on Life
Haven't been on much...and not much to say.
Johnny and I are getting back to life and planning on our next adventures in life. We have decided that's it's a good idea to start looking for a house to buy. I'm excited to be able to focus on something so big this summer when I'm not working.
We have also decided to start working on adding to our family. So far, I have been to the doctor's to give my blood for a bunch of tests to make sure I'm healthy as can be.
Hopefully I'll have more fun things to update this summer and fall!

Ready and Wait
Homecoming is coming upon us with in the week to say the least. I've been driving myself crazy this past week knowing he's so close and not able to come back yet. I've got my homecoming outfit ready, and I have found time to clean my house and help out a family move into their new one. I even bought Johnny a new car. 2005 Mazda 3! It's not exactly ours yet...finance pending. I'll show off his car once I know it's ours!
I should try and figure out how to get my car clean...actually I should just do it myself but i don't want to. hehe.
oh yes I almost forgot to write about getting my new job! I now am a permanent employee for Early Intervention. Not sub, not temporary. I'm too excited! It's right where I want to be.
Another birthday has passed me by this month too! I went shopping for a homecoming outfit for my birthday. I'm waiting to do more with my lovely husband when he gets home.
I'm hoping to take some homecoming pictures so hopefully I can share!

Being Lazy
I wanted to share pictures from my short trip to California, BUT....I'm being lazy about it. I haven't downloaded the pictures to my computer yet. I wanted to say that I truly did enjoy myself.
I enjoyed spending time with my dad on his 50th birthday and watching the Super Bowl Game. I enjoyed spending time with my mom and getting hot stone massage. Going shopping trying to find curtains for the new things Johnny and I bought for our living room. I even enjoyed having breakfast with my mom before heading to the airport and going back to Oregon.
I enjoyed playing with my 3 nieces and letting my sister and her husband go to a movie.
I enjoyed going shopping with my sister and helping her cook(the one time. LOL)
Now that I'm back in Oregon, I'm getting ready for Johnny to come home in April/May. We are starting to plan mini vacations and what to do with our summer. We will be figuring out what step to take in life when he gets home too. He's looking forward to going to school and I couldn't support him enough in this new step in our lives.
I'm also busy with my new temporary full-time job with Early Interventions. I'm glad to be working consistently during the week and am enjoying working in 2 different classrooms. I'll be looking forward to more hours, I hope, in the start of the school year in September.
That's just a short update on our lives and the direction we are going in the beginning of this year!

Nina and Shane's Wedding
Today Nina and Shane got married. I'm so happy and thrilled to be apart of something so awesome. They are so great for each other.
We started off by having the bachlorette party on the 9th of January by going down to Eugene and dancing the night away. We waited to have the bridal shower until the last minute so out of town family would beable to join in. It was a fabulous time.
I just now realized I have not taken any pictures of any of these events. Needless to say my blog is lacking on the picture side of things. oh well, I had fun and although I cried cuz I was sad Johnny wasn't able to join us in the celebration it was an awesome wedding.

Happy 2010
Johnny and I brought in the New Year in Pacific City, Oregon. We enjoyed ourselves at www.innatcapekiwanda.com Molly got to tag along too. Although stormy we managed to keep ourselves entertained with the good seafood and walking around the Tillamook Cheese Factory. We managed to get some fudge and taffy while there too.
When we got home we started cleaning up the house to bring in our new furniture. Pictures to follow, cuz Johnny's on my computer playing video games and I'm to lazy to go grab the camera and download to his laptop. We've stayed busy this r&r and plan on being lazy and enjoying this time before he leaves to go back to Iraq at the end of the week. But no worries because he'll be home for good in May.
I am excited to see what 2010 will bring for our family and friends.

Merry Christmas
So as I am typing this out Johnny should be traveling home. I hope so because I haven't heard from him in a day. We don't have much planned. Just a quick getaway on the coast for about 3 days. I know everyone talks about having to wait days later to pick up their loved ones but for once I hope this isn't the case. It's fun telling people that my husband is my Christmas present and I get to pick him up on Christmas Eve.
I have been working full time as a sub which has been keeping me busy but now that it's winter break I have been cleaning the house and getting ready for Johnny to come home. Hmm...can't think of anything else because there's not much going on. We are healthy, happy, and looking forward to what next year may bring.
I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas. Stay safe and enjoy your family. I am ever so grateful to be able to enjoy my husband this Christmas.

R&R Christmas
Johnny is coming home around Christmas time!!!! I get to have him a whole 14 days!!!! I'm thrilled :)
I have to cancel my airflight to California and the kennel I reserved for Mollie. But after such good news, who cares? I now need to make hotel reservations on the coast and enjoy in the fact that:

Happy Haloween!!
I'm a little late...I wasn't going to make a post about Halloween because silly me forgot my camera. Not sure how that happened. I went to our niece's 1 year birthday party and I forgot my camera. Not happy about it so I may repeat it a couple of times. LOL Afterwards I drove down to Eugene to hang with friends while they passed out candy and that was a BUST! I think everyone was at the game because she only had 7 knocks at her door. I was suppose to dress up but I didn't. (I think she was a little upset by that. hehe) Her husband was a wizard and she made a matching hat for her little one and she was a....well I'm not sure what she was, she put on the outfit she wore at her wedding reception. It was beautiful to say the least.
So my Halloween wasn't eventful this year but that's okay because I didn't really feel all upbeat about it anyways. Hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween!

Pumpkin Carving
After going to the pumpkin patch I went over to my friends house were we had a pumpkin carving night. Everyone brought their pumpkins, we ate dinner and got started on all the goop and seed pulling and carving, shaving and lighting of our pumpkins. I thought after years of carving I'd try something a little more difficult...at least for me. LOL.

Pumpkins!
Love, Love, Love October with all the pumpkin activities.
Saturday night I went to the haunted corn maze with my friend Bethany and her husband. I came home with mud up to my knees and had fun finding our way through the maze with chainsaw noises and strobe light tunnels and people sneaking up on you while your just standing around answering questions. My question of the night was why is this my first time? Johnny and I will be going again next year and I sooo can't wait.
On Sunday I went to the pumpkin patch with Johnny's family. I enjoyed taking pictures of everyone and yes I did pick one out. I'll show you in my next entry of pumpkin carving. :) To my surprise no tantrums this year. All the kiddos really enjoyed themselves. It was fun!

Cookies!
I started baking cookies to send to Johnny. First of all I hope they get there edible. Secondly, I thought he would enjoy some pictures of me making them since he usually enjoys taking one off the counter fresh out of the oven when he is home.

The suggestion that I have read on the Internet is to freeze the cookies until you go to the post office. So all the orange Tupperware are cookies to send to Johnny. And you get to look at what else is in the freezer. Time for a bigger freezer!
The cookies I made in the pictures are peanut butter with a pumpkin candy. For Halloween of course! Other cookies I baked and are sending out are chocolate cookies and I made chocolate chip oat bars. I am waiting for the bowls to clean up in the dishwasher to start making the sugar cookies. I'm still not sure how all these cookies will end up in the box.

Johnny's Unit
The FRG coordinator for Johnny's unit emailed some links. I hope you enjoy! Although they are just glimpses of what Johnny is doing it's still better than nothing.
As for me.....just sitting around selling a little Scentsy and waiting for time to fly so my husband can come home to me.

NO Broken Bones!
Johnny finally made it to the other base via helicopter. He went to the doctor and said he strained his tendon. Gave him a different brace and now Johnny has to sit and wait to go back to his base.
So after two full weeks of sitting and waiting hopefully next week Johnny will be able to get up and do whatever it is that he is suppose to do. Hopefully nothing too exciting happpens again. I just want him safe and together the way he left.

Johnny lost to a Punching Bag
As Johnny sits bored in Iraq he has worked out just about everyday with some of the guys. Well two days ago he decided to hit the punching bag in between sets of whatever exercises he was doing that day. Let's just say he lost to the bag. Now he has to sit around with a possible broken wrist and wait for a convoy to take him to another base to get x-rays done so they can figure out what exactly he did to himself. I was hoping he would take a picture of himself so I could post it along with this post but no such luck...what a guy! So when he gets some results I can update the blog about him and let all those who read this know as well. As of now he is still waiting and the high amount of Motrin and Advil is not working out. Yesterday he was wishing for a frozen bag of peas...I'm sure he misses home and all the readily available help he would have.
But on the brighter side...we can add this to the list of disability that he can receive when out of the military. He seems to wait for active duty to sustain most of his injuries...lol. I just hope he gets this all situated soon and can actually be productive soon.
